TECHNICAL CHALLENGE AND INNOVATION IN WELDING ENGINEERING

TECHNICAL CHALLENGE AND INNOVATION IN WELDING ENGINEERING

The AWFTE will be jointly hosting their next Forum with the Southern Branch of The Welding Institute on the 13th March at Portsmouth University. The day will focus on marine engineering, welder training and education in southern England.

Bringing together experts and practitioners, the day will be an opportunity to focus on the needs of key local industries and will bring together training providers, employers and new technologies so that all participants can both contribute and take away fresh ideas and perspectives on the topic.

A part of the event will be discussing CSWTO (Certification Scheme for Welder Training Organisations) Certification - quality assurance of training facilities, equipment, teaching materials and procedures, which provides enhanced customer confidence in the competence of organisations to deliver welder training, and generates new business opportunities between training providers and industry.

Supported by CSWIP Welding Instructor and CSWIP Welding Examiner certification, CSWTO is a mark of competence for delivering welder and brazer training and assessment.

The most capable CSWTO certified training organisations can also gain approval as CSWIP Welder examination venues and undertake welder assessment for students and employed welders to gain CSWIP Welder certification in accordance with industry-recognised standards (ISO 9606, EN 287, AWS etc).

Speaking at the event will be CSWTO Lead Assessor and Principal Verification Engineer Mr John Brampton. Internationally accredited for Engineering and recognised throughout the industry, John has over 40 years’ experience and will be offering invaluable insight and advice.
